The Running and The Bulls 2014 : United States

The 2014 San Fermin Festival, which this year will be recorded and broadcasted for the first time in HD, will be shown by Esquire Network in the States through NBC Universal, channel and millions of viewers will have the chance to follow them!.

Spanish TV will capture, as usual, all the details of the exciting bull run thanks to the 25 cameras placed along the entire running of the bulls itinerary (less that 850 mtrs) , which runs along the streets of the Pamplona Old Town, starting in Santo Domingo´s Hill and finishing in the Bullfight Arena.

In addition to the eight bull run starting on July 7 and finishing on July 14, the Esquire Network audience will also enjoy different images of the best bulls of the San Fermin festival in previous editions, as well as some of the highlighted moments of the festival along its history.

Esquire Network is a channel of entertainment and lifestyle on different areas from fashion to culinary lifestyle or travel. Aired in September 2013 in 75 million homes across the United States and is a division of NBC Universal.

In Spain, viewers have great interest in enjoy the San Fermin Festival on their home tv thanks to the Spanish tv. In 2013, they were seen by an average of 1,663,000 viewers, 70.7% audience share in La 1 (Nacional Spanish tv) and Canal 24 Horas. This means, the most watched seconds in history, after 2010.

Garcigrande Livestock is located in Salamanca (Mid Spain). Established in 1986, the owner is Mrs. Concha Gil Escobar. Their ownership indicative on the bulls (divisa) is red & white, exactly the same colours used during all those enjoying the San Fermin Festival.

This is their first year participating in the running of the bulls of San Fermin and we are all looking forward to see how these bulls behave.

Dolores Aguirre Ybarra was a originally from Bizcaya in Basque Country but her famous livestock was based in Constantina, Seville. She was the owner of the iron stamp that bears their name & signature.

This important Livestock is very known in San Fermin Festival, specially for their bravery and danger during the running of the bulls.

Let´s speak about the livestock´s timings among the daily Running of the Bulls. Up to this year, the fastest one has been Miura with a mark of 2'13 "established on July 9^th 2006, followed by Victoriano del Ríowith a running of the bulls speed of 2´ 14´´ on July 10^th 2013 and Torrestrellawith 2´15´´ on July 10, 1997. However, these timings are taken from specific runnings of the bulls. If we look at the average speed of all livestocks included in the San Fermin 2014 Running of the Bulls Program we clearly see that the fastest one is Victoriano del Río as we has appeared only 4 times during the San Fermin Festival and achieved a fantastic mark of 2'17 ". Therefore we can tell he has the fastest bulls in recent years and have a strong possibility of achieving this mark during this year´s San Fermin Festival. Before making your mind it´s important to consider these other two livestocks: Torrestrellawhich follows with splendid 3´04´´ and Fuente Ymbro with 3'17 " but remember that this is an average (9 appeareances) as this last livestock has been the slowest of the San Fermin Festival history with a 6´23´´ on July 9^th2010. Up to date, we found out that the slowest livestock have been Miura andDolores Aguirre 3'36 ". We must say is not because they are too slow but because they must be taken into account that they have appeared in 14 and 34 times along Running of the Bulls history since 1982 and this can be the main reason to have a lower average that their livestock competitors.

If you wonder which Livestock has starred on the “Goring Section” we have the facts too! Jandilla has 27, Torrestrella21, Dolores Aguirre 14 and Miura 12. To establish the danger of these animals we will use their goring average by Running of the Bulls and we deeply affirm that Jandilla is the scariest one as we can tell that has an index of 1.92 gored runners by each running of the bulls that has participated, followed by Torrestrella with 1.75 runners and Dolores Aguirre 1 runners. We finish this post by letting you know that 2 of the 3 most dangerous livestocks will be present during the Running of the Bulls of San Fermin 2014 as Cebaga Gago won´t be coming this year.
