San Fermín. Equine Fair

On Tuesday July the 10th will take place the new edition of the Equine Exhibition during the San Fermin Festival. The fair will begin at 7 am,although the animals may enter until 10 am and will be running until 15 hours (It will be held on the Industrial Area of Agustinos, on the outskirts of Pamplona). This fair is consideredone of the most important in Northern Spain. You can only display and sale equine animals such as horses, mares, ponies, donkeys.

The San Fermin Festival,in its origin has a much closed relation with the Livestock Markets and Bullfights;they have found documents from the XIV century. At first the Religious Festivals and Bullfighting events would take place at different times around the year. How ever, the residents of Pamplona tired of Autumn´s weather that befell each 10th of October, the day of the festival of San Fermin, managed to transfer it to the July the 7th,coinciding with the cattle markets. In 1591 the first San Fermin Festival washeld.
